I booked ten thousand flights before I retired. Here's how to fly easy

★★★★★
I've been avoiding flying because I was scared of the long walk and missing my connection. Howard's book walked me through requesting the wheelchair service and the golf cart — my daughter and I flew to Seattle last month with zero stress. Wish I'd had this 10 years ago.
— Margaret T., Sarasota, FL
★★★★★
Saved $140 on our anniversary trip by using the carry-on packing list and skipping the bag fees. The seat-request trick got us bulkhead on both flights. Paid for itself twice over.

I'm 72 and I fly to see the grandkids four times a year. I thought I knew everything until I read this book. The companion boarding rule, the 24-hour cancellation, the wheelchair-through-security shortcut — wish my old travel agent had told me this stuff 20 years ago.

About the author

Howard Brennan

I'm Howard Brennan. I spent 35 years behind the desk at a regional travel agency, booking over ten thousand flights before the internet changed the business. I watched airlines add fees, cut services, and stop training agents to mention the free assistance programs seniors are entitled to. After I retired in 2019, I launched the Fly Easy Seniors YouTube channel to share what the airlines don't advertise — the wheelchair service that costs nothing, the rebooking rights, the seat requests that work, and the step-by-step airport plan that takes the fear out of flying. I still fly six times a year to see my grandkids in Phoenix and Tampa, and I use every method in this book.

Questions

Before you decide.

I don't fly often — is this book still useful for me?

Yes. If you fly even once or twice a year to visit family, the fee-saving methods and assistance requests will save you money and stress on every trip. Most clients I worked with flew 2–4 times a year.

Do these methods work for all airlines?

The federal rights (wheelchair service, companion boarding, assistive-device rules) apply to all U.S. carriers. The seat and fee strategies are airline-specific, and I cover the policies for American, Delta, United, Southwest, JetBlue, Alaska, and the budget carriers.

Is this book only for people with disabilities or mobility issues?

No. It's for any senior who wants to fly more comfortably, save money on fees, and know their rights. About half the methods are about comfort and savings (seats, fees, packing, booking timing). The other half covers assistance and accessibility services you're entitled to even if you don't consider yourself disabled.

Will airlines actually honor these requests?

Yes. These aren't loopholes or tricks — they're published policies and federal regulations. The problem is that airlines don't advertise them and gate agents don't always remember to mention them. When you ask correctly (I show you the exact language), they must comply.

How is this different from booking through a travel agent?

I was a travel agent for 35 years. Most agents today are order-takers who don't mention the assistance services or fee-saving strategies because the airlines don't pay them to. This book gives you the insider knowledge I used to provide my senior clients.

Can I get a refund if this doesn't work for me?

Yes. If you read the book and use the methods on your next flight and don't save at least the cover price in fees or stress, email me within 60 days and I'll refund your purchase.
